Prime Time for a Review of Primers!

Prime Time!
Prime Time!

I can’t live without my primer and I never ever ever apply foundation without one.  Here are my besties:

  • Benefit The PoreFessional – (£24.50) I’ve been using this primer for years now to hide my massive unsightly pores.  It’s a slightly tinted gel / cream that goes on like silk to hide and blur imperfections of the large pore variety.  It also blurs fine lines for photograph ready skin.  It’s got a cult following and it’s not exactly hard to see why.  I wore it on my wedding day to help avoid dreaded shine and it worked really well for me (especially given the day was crazy humid and I was in a giant silk dress, dancing like a fool!).  I have repurchased this primer over and over again and will continue to do so – absolute fav!
  • Laura Mercier Protect Foundation Primer – (£29) I bought this after hearing how good the Radiance version was, which has sadly been out of stock in the UK for quite some time.  This one has SPF 30 included, which is always a bonus.  It’s not quite what I expected, it’s more of a fluid.  It provides a really nice base for my foundation, no flaky or patchy bits!  It’s on the pricy side and I find doesn’t help with mattifying the skin (to be fair it doesn’t claim to do this).  I will use this up as I spent so much money on it, but I think I’ll hold out for the radiance version when it’s back in stock.
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (Orignal) – (£16) I cannot live without this stuff!  It lasts absolutely ages and it works a treat.  You apply an absolutely tiny bit to each eyelid before applying eyeshadow, liner etc.  before this I did suffer with eyeshadow crease, eyeshadow movement and smudge (thank my oily skin), since using this, my shadow does not move and I find it’s given me the confidence to try bolder colours and experiment even more.  A superhero product!
  • L’Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream – (£9.99) now this isn’t strictly a primer, it’s a blur cream.  I have this in light to medium.  You can wear alone or under foundation / powder.  I’m going to do a separate review of this stuff because I feel this is a real find!  It’s definitely on a par with Benefit and it’s less than half the price.  Love this product so much!

There you go! Those are my favourites let me know which yours are x
