Its Glossybox time again! August is the fourth birthday for Glossybox, so this one has a global theme, from the U.S. to Spain. What did we get?
Me Me Me Lipglide in Playful Peach – allegedly a full-size, but I’d say it’s a three quarter size if we were being honest! It’s a very bright coral pink in a crayon form, so it’s great for applying without the need for a pencil. It’s not a colour I would have ever purchased for myself! That said its bright, but wearable, maybe on holiday or for a lunch date with friends. It did last on me, and did feel quite nice and hydrating.
Manna Kadar Lash Primer – I’m really sad that Glossybox have stated this is a full size. It’s blatantly not! It’s the half mascara size you usually get as a freebie or sample, and to suggest it would cost almost £15 for this mini is a little outrageous! I really do think these primers are much of a muchness, it’s a white cream you apply before your usual mascara. Yes lashes always look better and bigger with a primer, but this is nothing special.
Emite Artist Colour Powder Blush – This is my surprise gold star product of the box! It’s a massive blusher, I really don’t think you’d run out of this anytime soon! It’s a hybrid between blusher and bronzer, so it comes out a very deep pinky bronze. I did sigh in disappointment when I saw it initially, but the colour is really beautiful, and utterly perfect for the transition from summer to autumn. It retails at over £20, to be honest I’m not surprised, it’s a really good quality and unique product. I love it! My standout August Glossy product!
Naobay Calming Face Toner – This is a full size retailing at over £10 a bottle usually. It comes in absolutely lovely packaging, with a lovely wooden cap. It’s a very refreshing, but it’s meant to smell citrussy and mine smells like water! It’s not something I would normally purchase (I’m a Liz Earle girl afterall!) but it does make a slight and interesting change to my usual routine. It worked well to remove those pesky last traces of foundation and left my skin feeling clean and well hydrated. But the lack of fragrance is something I’m not so sure of!
SASS purifying cleanser – Hmmm this is an intimate wash. What else can you say?! Would I ever usually buy a separate shower product for down there? Nope! Will I purchase this one now I’ve tried it? Nope! Let’s stick to fun new makeup products and high end skin care shall we Glossybox?!
Loves – the blusher/bronzer is fantastic
Not so Loves – an intimate wash? Really!!
Overall – I actually really like August’s offering, I’m really happy with it! I’m also looking forward to September’s offering …
Glossybox retails at £10 a month plus postage. There is usually a new subscriber offer, meaning you get a previous box for free – Glossybox.co.uk
