Oily skin? You need this!

Pomegranate to cleanse?
Pomegranate to cleanse?

This is one powerful mask for oily or combination skin!  I love a clay based mask.  Pop it in pink packaging and promise me something fruity like a pomegranate and I’m sold!  A small tube (three or four masks if you’ve got a small face!) retails at £7 and is available from Feel Unique.

Korres say pomegranate is ‘a rich source of tannins, anthocyanins, vitamins (A, C, E) and minerals and is widely used for its antioxidant properties. The pomegranate fruit contains three times the antioxidant properties of red wine or green tea. This high level of antioxidants found in pomegranate is effective in combating free radicals that cause premature ageing of skin cells. Pomegranate extract has also significant astringent properties, due to the contained tannins. As a result, it tightens the pores and strengthens the skin epidermis, thus being ideal for oily and combination skin.’

I used this mask post cleanse with my usual Liz Earle cleanse and polish followed by my Liz Earle exfoliator. I applied a very generous layer and left to dry for a good ten to fifteen minutes.  The mask was very comfortable to wear.  It’s a white clay type mask so it did dry on my skin after a while.  Immediately after use my skin felt very clean, refined and glowing!  The day after when I woke up my skin was pretty dry and tight to be honest, slightly uncomfortably so.  To be fair this mask is aimed at oily and combination skin types, mine is definitely combination to normal at the moment.  I have a very oily nose (!) and this mask sorted that little problem right out!

This mask definitely renewed my skin post use.  It made makeup application the next day after use very was and my skin did look good!  I think my skin is reasonable at the moment so I’ll use this mask sparingly, maybe once a fortnight.  If you have oily skin or a few breakouts, this mask would be amazing.

Loves – high quality ingredients, very reasonable price and an extremely  effective treatment.

Not so Loves – a little too effective for my skin at the moment!

Overall – a nice little treat for oily types!
